Investigator: Alice Bernhard

Even as a young girl, Alice always had an interest in the Paranormal. The name of my very first cat was Casper, she says.  Alice & her husband, John, participated in a public investigation with another group & they were hooked from there.  Alice says that even though their house is brand new (no previous owners) they still have activity in their house. They have, what they think are a couple of ghost cats (previous pets). One day, right before a lightning storm, Alice saw an Indian walk from the hallway to the front door. That was cool, she says, because John has seen him a few times outside the house. They also think they have an old coal miner in their home. Her favorite place to investigate is Spangler’s Spring in Gettysburg. Alice says that she goes there every year with her dousing rods & talks to the same Farmer, Francis, who was murdered before the battle & is stuck there. He answers the same questions, the same way, every time. It’s awesome!

Investigator: John Bernhard

I have been investigating paranormal activity since 2009 with my wife Alice. We got involved in this after a public investigation with another group. I have a B.S. degree in telecommunications and formerly worked in television for 10years. I enjoy using this experience and knowledge to experiment with new and existing technology to help prove the existence of the paranormal. As a field of study I’m amazed at how far it’s been advanced and how close we are to physically proving the existence of spiritual entities. Through years of investigating I have had many incredible experiences. I have seen apparitions, had shadow figures that have interacted with us and have even found an EVP that mentioned me by name. One of my most memorable experiences was when a bench moved on its own in an old hotel that we often investigated in. I look forward to all the future investigations to come with my wife and this group of great, experienced investigators in Paranormal Sightings.

Investigator: Sherri Buzik

I have always been interested in the paranormal. As a young child, I sensed there were people around me…but I couldn’t see them. I was never frightened by these “people”, they somehow made me feel safe. Maybe they were family members that I had never met, and they were there to watch over me, I don’t know, but that is where it all began for me.
I joined this group in an attempt to hone in on what I am able to sense. I love technology and love using technology to validate what I feel. It’s my attempt to prove, scientifically, that what I feel is real.

Investigator: Don Duffield

Don’s interest in the paranormal began as a child growing up in New Jersey. Living in the Pine Barrens, he frequently searched for the New Jersey Devil. He had several interactions with spirits in the home he grew up in. He knew there were spirits in the house but he was never able to prove their existence. Now, he investigates so that he can document and provide proof of the paranormal. Don especially enjoys experimenting with new equipment and researching the homes we visit. Maybe someday he will document proof of the NJ Devil.

Investigator: Mary Duffield

Mary’s belief in the paranormal was cemented after living in a haunted apartment in Easton. There she saw the apparition of a little girl from the 1800’s on several occasions. She has heard her name called and been touched by spirits in Gettysburg, giving her further evidence of the paranormal. She now investigates in order to document what she sees and hears.

Investigator: Allison Gaul

Allison’s interest in the paranormal began when she would come home and tell her parents who she saw or talked to during the day and her parents would tell her that that was impossible, because that person died several days earlier! Allison enjoys helping families solve their paranormal problems.

Web Design/Investigator: Daniel Howard

Starting at an early age, I was found often times watching old scary movies, passing time with some books, and other interest in the occult. When I was young, I would see shadows in the night, when nothing was there but me, lanterns passing through my home, or the mysterious clicks.  As I find myself older, I continue to enjoy the same/similar topics, films, biographies of ghostly encounters, UFOs and Bigfoot.  I find Halloween one of my favorite holidays.

He has visited and investigated many famous haunted locations.  Jim has a lot of equipment, but his favorite piece of equipment to use is his camera.

Investigator: Carleen Ladden

Carleen says she grew up in a house that her family shared with spirits. As a child, she says she always knew there were ghosts there. Carleen’s mother told her that her first experience was when she was only a few weeks old. Carleen states her best experience was seeing Mary Packer “In the flesh.”  Carleen says, “I didn’t realize I was watching a ghost. I kept looking at her wondering who is this old lady and why is she here? She’s not supposed to be in here. I didn’t know she was a ghost until she faded right before my eyes!  A few weeks later I saw a photo of Mary Packer and immdeiatly recognized her as the ghost I had seen.”  Carleen says her favorite experiences are when she is able to make contact with a spirit, obtain information from them and later validate what she found.

Investigator: Shelly Nunemacheer

My sister, Sherri, joined this group before I did. She would tell me all kinds of stories about the people in the group and the investigations they were doing. What attracted me to the group was their professionalism. It’s not like on TV, where the investigator screams and runs from the activity. It’s quite the opposite. I noticed they first try to debunk any activity they are having. Then when they can’t debunk it, I love how they treat the spirits with respect. I also like that they, now we, document everything that happens. We do whatever we can to find out who the spirit is we are talking to and then research the history of the property and look for information on the name, to validate that is who we really were “talking” with. I love helping the living families and helping the souls that have past.

Investigator: Brandon Ruch

When Brandon is not volunteering with his local fire company or sitting on or fixing a piece of farm equipment, he can be found investigating. Brandon says the most amazing thing to him, when he is investigating, is when he is able to hear things with his own ears, without the aid of amplified equipment. To be investigating and actually hear the battle and the cannons fire is amazing.

Investigator: Danny Strohl

Danny had his first ghost encounter when he was 6 years old. The ghost was his neighbor who had recently past. Danny says that was what got him curious about ghosts and he’s been curious ever since.  When asked about his best experience, Danny says, “There are too many to choose. Probably the best, was seeing the aperition of a little girl in a hotel in Ocean City, Maryland and having another investigator see her at the same time, validating what I saw.” Danny’s favorite places to hunt ghosts are Gettysburg, PA and Broney’s Hotel in Lehighton, PA.

Investigator: Wanda Strohl

Wanda said her fascination with ghosts stems from being married to a ghost hunter (Danny).  Seeing and hearing  the evidence he captures is really interesting to Wanda. Her favorite experience is hearing her mother-in-law carry laundry upstairs from the basement.  Her mother-in-law has been passed for over a year. But, Wanda still hears the undeniable sound of step, step and the wash basket hit the steps. Repeated by step, step, basket.  Her favorite location to investigate is Gettysburg.

Investigator: Jeff Thomas

Jeff has always believed in the paranormal. He said, “Growing up in Jim Thorpe, it’s hard not to believe.” He said he enjoys investigating and helping famalies figure out if they are actually living in a haunted location or if something else might be causing their experiences. Jeff uses his electrical and technical education to debunk some of the things people experience as not paranormal and he also uses that knowledge when helping the team set up equipment and troubleshoot problems with equipment.

Investigator: Todd Weaver

Todd has had many spiritual and paranormal experiences over the past 35 years. From growing up and presently living in a haunted home to being a member of several paranormal groups. Through it all he has learned that to find the truth, sometimes you need to travel many roads. And although he uses his ongoing experiences with Paranormal Sightings and Paranormal Investigators of the Poconos to learn, his biggest classroom is Gettysburg.
